SCHOLARSHIPS

Association of Chemistry and the Environment logo

The objective of EMEC conferences is to bring together scientists from diverse fields.

In this spirit, the EMEC meeting scholarships aims to motivate young scientists to fully participate in the conference and shall facilitate an international scientific exchange of PhD candidates and junior scientists during the meeting.

Beginning in 2015 the Association for Chemistry and the Environment (ACE) has offered a number of scholarships for MSc and PhD students to participate the annual European Meeting on Environmental Chemistry (EMEC). The scholarship covers the conference fee and additionally travel as well as accommodation costs of up to 500 €. To make an application, candidates should send an application to the Prof. Dr. Josef Caslavsky (caslavsky@fch.vut.cz). The application should comprise of the following elements:

  • Bibliography
  • Brief summary of hitherto research work
  • Letter of recommendation from a supervisor
  • Current enrolment certificate
  • Certificate of examination results

The selection of up to five candidates will be based on past academic achievements (grade transcripts, scientific publications) and national quotas.

AWARDS

The organisation of the EMEC 19 will grant eight awards to outstanding contributions of young scientists. 
Two awards for the best Oral Presentations (500 EUR for each) and six other for the best Poster communications (250 EUR for each) will be announced during the Closing Ceremony of EMEC 19.
